Project Description

This project will investigate the use of computational tools in sustainable design to develop a way of visualising the natural processes of landscape. Specifically, it will address how innovative methods could be used to alleviate the complexities of designing for sustainability by replicating both natural and manmade elements in a digital space. The role of landscape is intrinsic to a sustainable future society; as a resource it supports health and wellbeing, generates food and is a habitat for biodiversity. This research proposal intends to consider how artificial intelligence might address the interdependency of these landscape processes through evaluation and generation of landscape in the design process.
